LATIN DANCE SYLLABUS
There are 5 dances in Latin Dance and children will expect to learn these dances in the following sequence:





IDTA LATIN DANCE for KIDS is a specially designed programme aim to make Latin dance more relatable to young children.
Classes for kids regardless of age and levels follows a structure with the emphasis on 4 main areas:
IDTA EXAMINATION
The International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) is a dance teaching and examination board based in Brighton, England. Operating internationally, the IDTA currently has over 7,000 members in 55 countries. The IDTA is recognised by the national qualifications regulators in England and Wales, Ofqual and the Council for Dance Education and Training, and is also affiliated to the British Dance Council, the Central Council of Physical Recreation and the Theatre Dance Council International.
PRE-BRONZE
Age 3-5
3 months per term
1 hour per week
Emphasis on confidence building skills
Simplified Latin dance concepts
Introducing Latin music rhythm
Indoor shoes are compulsory
BRONZE
Age 5-8
3 months per term
1 hour per week
Dance etiquette & confidence building skills
Progressive syllabus of all 5 Latin Dances
End of term Latin Dance assessment
Dance shoes are compulsory
SLIVER
Age 9-12
3 months per term
1 hour per week
Dance conditioning and techniques training
Progressive syllabus of all 5 Latin Dances

TEEN
Age 12+

Developing advanced dance techniques and skills
